I am a Master’s student and joined the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean in July 2026. I completed my Bachelor of Marine Science in 2026. My research, in partnership with WA Fisheries (DPIRD), focuses on the growth of Black Bream (Acanthopargus butcheri) within 3 WA estuaries (Swan, Stokes, Walpole). I’ll be using mixed effect models to understand if the distance between growth rings in otoliths can be used as proxy measures of growth, and how growth is impacted by environmental factors.
