Georgina is a Master’s student in the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean, building on her BSc in Marine Science and a deep interest in shark ecology. Her research focuses on addressing knowledge gaps surrounding lemon sharks, particularly their reproductive biology and population structures, in order to better understand and protect this species. Driven by a passion for improving the management and conservation of vulnerable marine species, she joined the Sea Around Us – Indian Ocean in May 2025 as a Research Assistant, contributing to the Catch Reconstruction Update Project for Australia, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Kenya. She hopes to improve as a marine scientist and contribute further to the scientific community.
